Daily Create Week 3: Images
This week’s Daily Creates were centred around images. I found this week’s prompts really exciting because there is so much you can do with images, such as drawing and photography, and many of the prompts had me using my more abstract thought process to create new images (or objects) through the use of other media. Images can be a great form of multimedia, aside from just providing an alternate form of information intake, images within media allow for complex ideas to be broken down into images to explain concepts (infographics, graphs, etc.), as well as increase student engagement, by drawing learners attention with bold graphics, bright colors and fun images relating to the topic of choice.
Hand Drawing:
The first Daily Create prompt I did was a hand drawing, where my job was to trace my hand making a shape, and use the abstract shape it had created to make an animal. This one was really fun, and I chose to do the hand shape of the sign language symbol for love. This prompt really had me engaging in abstract thinking and accepting that the image I curated was not going to be perfect in any way. In the end, I created a little bat hanging off a branch.

Be Shady or Shadowy:
For this prompt, we had to find and take a photo of something difficult to identify. This prompt was quite cool because it allowed me to play with lighting and shadows. Any guesses on what I took a photo of?

Illustrate an Idiom:
For this prompt, we had to visualize a popular idiom. I chose “When pigs fly”. I used Canva to create this image, and it was really cool to be able to experiment with different forms of media for imagery throughout this week. (Digital, photography, and drawing)
